A jar holds its own melted wax. A loose melt does not, which is why melts and warmer lamps usually end up being sold for two different objects.
This is the missing piece: a shallow dish that sits on the lamp base, under the shade, with a well deep enough for one square and a rim you can lift when it has gone cold.
You buy it once. Wipe it out with a piece of kitchen roll while the wax is still soft and it is ready for the next square.
